WEATHER IN INDONESIA

Indonesia has two seasons: dry season which runs from April to October and the monsoon season which is November to March.

It is important to keep in mind that every year is different with all the bad things we are doing to the environment. Don’t look at me, I recycle!

Weather forecasts don’t really mean much and so things can be hard to predict either way, good or bad!

REGIONAL WEATHER

Sumatra, Kalimantan, Java, Bali, Komodo, Flores, Lombok & the Gilis, Sumba, South Sulawesi

April to October is good with the rest being mixed. Doesn’t mean it will always be bad weather outside this time.

North Sulawesi, the Moluccas, West Papua & Raja Ampat

February to May is good with the rest being mixed.

Indonesia has recently made the whole process super simple online. So if you don’t want to wait in line at the airport, you can get your visa online via the official immigration website.

This is also beneficial in case you want to an extension because you’ll be able to sort it online instead of having to physically go to an immigration office

Indonesia is considered very safe if you are in tourist regions. If you are visiting more remote regions, make sure to read up before hand as there can be some places that are more dangerous.

Really depends on where you are but it is cheaper compared to western places. End of the day, it’s also going to be all about how you travel. You can do it very expensive and choose fancy restaurants and hotels or you can choose street food and budget guesthouses.

Credit card adoption is picking up but you will usually be met with extra surcharges of 3-5% so cash is still king.
